Space heaters are devices used to heat air. In ventilation and air conditioning systems, hot water, steam or electric energy are commonly used as heat sources. According to different heat sources and heating methods, they are divided into: electric heaters and direct-fired air heaters. So, what are the safety precautions for operating an electric air heater?

(1) The sealing fan and the electric heater must be interlocked. During normal operation, the PLC control cabinet manufacturer can only start the electric heater after running the sealed fan; before stopping the sealed fan, the electric heater must first stop running. It is forbidden to start the electric heater without sealing air to avoid burning out the electric heating tube.

(2) Before operating the sealed fan, the inlet adjustment baffle of the sealed fan should be closed. Then start the sealing fan, and gradually open the sealing fan inlet adjustment baffle after the sealing fan runs at full speed. As the sealed fan inlet adjustment baffle is gradually opened, the operating current of the sealed fan motor gradually increases. When the motor operating current approaches the rated current, the sealed fan inlet baffle is fixed and a red warning line is engraved.

(3) On the premise of meeting the sealing air flow requirements, the low-voltage distribution cabinet supplier should use the inlet adjustment baffle to minimize the motor operating current. It is prohibited to operate the motor beyond the rated current to avoid burning the motor.

(4) It is forbidden to directly connect the power supply to the electric heating tube when the automatic temperature control fails to avoid burning the electric heating tube.

(5) The thyristor radiator is a charged body. It is prohibited to touch the radiator with your hands to check the working temperature of the thyristor to avoid electric shock accidents.

(6) In view of the requirements for the protection level of the local control cabinet, the automatic temperature control cabinet is a fully enclosed structure. Therefore, you should always check whether the cooling fan of the thyristor radiator is working properly. Perform regular maintenance or replacement of the cooling fan to ensure that the cooling fan operates normally. The control cabinet body is a heat sink, and the surrounding area should be well ventilated. Do not allow direct sunlight to shine on the cabinet.

(7) If the equipment is placed in an environment with high humidity and is out of service for a long time, the insulation level of the electric heater in the motor start control box may decrease. When used again, it should be dried at low voltage first. After 30 minutes, if the insulation resistance is above 0.5MΩ, it can enter normal operation.
